Hello everyone! hope your week is off to a GREAT start !
Today I’m sharing a floral thank you card on the Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog, inspired by Pinkfresh Studio May Challenge. The theme of this month is “Frame It Up”, paired with a fresh and cheerful color palette of teal, pink, and yellow. I used the Nested Rectangles: Postage Edge die to create my frame and layered a piece of vellum over the outer portion of the Floral Field image. This softens the background beautifully and gently draws the focus to the floral design within the frame 🙂 !

I started by stenciling the Floral Field image onto an A2-sized white panel using a fresh spring palette. For the petals, I blended two shades together to achieve an ombré effect. For the flowers I used Marigold, Apricot, Mango Sorbet, Ballet Slipper, Bubble Gum, and Raspberry Bliss ; for the greenery Ocean Breeze, Key Lime and Mermaid Cove. The stenciled image was die cut with the coordinating die.

Next, I created a frame using the Nested Rectangles: Postage Edge and Nested Rectangles: Diagonal Stitch die sets. I then cut a rectangle from the stenciled floral piece with a craft knife into a size which would fit underneath the frame. I adhered the outer portion of the stenciled image to a textured card front, which I had prepared using the Charming Stitched Florals coverplate die.
To soften the background and direct focus toward the center, I added an A2-sized piece of vellum, glued only underneath where the frame would be placed.
I attached the central rectangle of the floral image behind the white frame and layered it with a second frame using foam tape to add dimension. The framed focal image was foam mounted on top of the vellum.

For the sentiment, I used the Plumeria Press Plate, pressed in Detail Black, and die cut it. To use as a mat for the sentiment I cut a heart from a piece of white cardstock which I ink blended in Bubble Gum using Radiating Hearts and Stars die. I layered it over a larger vellum heart, then placed both beneath the sentiment using foam tape. A few Blush and Amber Clear Drops added the final touch of sparkle, bringing together a softly layered and framed floral design.
