Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!
Today I’m sharing a floral slimline card on Pinkfresh Studio Blog, featuring the Garden Grace washi suite from the Daydream Edit Release. The slimline format is perfect for creating a flowing floral arrangement with plenty of room for the graceful blooms to shine. For the background, I was inspired by this month’s challenge theme, Striking Stripes, and used the Slimline Gradiating Stripes Stencil together with the Slim Diagonal Stripes Die. I also used the challenge color palette in softer shades to give the card a dreamy pastel look. And if you love slimline cards, this is a great time to pick up some of Pinkfresh Studio’s versatile slimline products while they’re in stock and on sale!

I started by stamping the Garden Grace images onto white cardstock using embossing ink and then stamping it again in Detail Black. I then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder, which gave the outlines a nice crisp finish and made them stand out beautifully.
Next, I colored the floral images using the coordinating stencil set in the following colors.
– pink flowers: Sparkling Rose, Coral Reef, Bubble Gum
– yellow flowers: Marigold, Coral Reef
– blue flowers: Summer Shower, Sparkling Rose
– Flower centers: Marigold, Sparkling Rose
– Leaves: Grassy Knoll, Olive
Once the coloring was complete, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I ink blended a slimline-sized white panel very lightly with Coral Reef, Hydrangea, and Summer Shower over the Slimline Gradiating Stripes Stencil. To add more texture and interest, I then dry embossed the panel with the Essentials: Slim Diagonal Stripes Die and cut it using the Blanket Stitch Slimline Rectangles Die.
I adhered the finished background panel to a white slimline cardbase and then arranged the floral elements on top using foam tape for dimension.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Garden Grace stamp set in Detail Black, die cut it, and added it to the card with foam tape. Finally, I embellished the design with Lilac, Sky Blue, and Iridescent Clear Drops for a soft and delicate sparkle.

I love how the soft striped background adds interest without taking away from the floral arrangement. The pastel colors also give the card a light and delicate feel, while the slimline format provides plenty of room for the graceful floral design. It’s one of the things I especially love about slimline cards, even with abundant floral elements, the design still doesn’t feel busy.
