The Flower Challenge #33 – Focus on Background Stamping

We have a new Guest Designer joining us for June, Deepti Malik. She is such a talented card designer and also has her own stamp range, Dee’s Artsy Impressions. Deepti has also kindly said she will give us one of her amazing floral stamp sets worth $15 as a PRIZE for our winner this time too!!! 

I’ve created a floral background using Smile set which Deepti has designed. 



I stamped the calla lilies in Twisted Citron DI on a watercolor paper panel repeatedly to create a background. I watercolored the panel and added some shades using colored pencils. I also added some green and yellow dots in the background using Copic markers.


After the coloring was done I cut a frame from the panel using Double Stitched Rectangles dies (The Ton). I ink blended the frame in Twisted Citron DI to make it darker. I mounted the colored panel on a white cardbase. The frame was foam mounted on its place.


The sentiment was cut using Mod Scripty Sentiments SVG cut file from The Ton’s digital category. I cut it two times, stacked them and then gold heat embossed it. I added the sentiment to the card using some foam adhesives. My finishing touch was the yellow and green sequins from Winter thaw, Cinderella’s ride Couture Mix and Lemon Chiffon sequins by The Ton.
