Hello everyone!!! Hope you’re having a great week so far!

Today a new challenge at Seize the Birthday has started. And we have no Toppings option this time around. So you can enter any birthday card into our gallery!!!

I’ve made a couple of cards by swapping the center part of two stamped panels.

The main peony cluster is from Painted Peonies set by The Ton.

I started off by stamping the peony flowers in Soft Garnet, Cosmopolitan Pink and Grand Fuchsia and the leaves in Soft Garden and Deep Emerald on a soft pink A2 sized panel. I stamped the black and white peony cluster at the same time to place it on a same spot on the white panel. With MISTI tool it was an easy job!  I used Pewter collection ink by The Ton to stamp the gray florals.

I then cut the circle from both panels using a Double Stitched Circle die. At that point I thought the front panel is a bit too empty. So I decided to add a smaller peony cluster from Timeless Peonies Print set (The Ton) on a corner. I stamped the image in softer colors using Rose Quartz and Soft Garnet and two gray tones.

To soften the soft pink panel even more I blended Hampton White Pigment ink around the cut out circle of the soft pink front panel. I also blended the Hampton White Pigment ink on the small peony clusters of both panels to tone down the colors.

The pink part was foam mounted and the white part was adhered flat on the cardbase on both cards.

The sentiment banner is from Basic Banners set and the sentiment is from Penned Sentiments set. Both from The Ton. For the white card I white heat embossed the banner and the sentiment on gray cardstock. The gold heat embossed banner with black sentiment was added on the pink card.

I finished off the card by adding Glass Slippers and Medallion Gold sequins.

Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my team mates and our surprise party guest Julie Beech! I’d love to see your cards in our gallery!

Have a happy Valentine’s day!
Hugs,
TaeEun
