Hello everyone!

It’s Seize the Birthday Thursday, friends! My lovely teammate Ashwini is hosting this challenge and she wants for us to use Transparency or Vellum for our projects! As you know any Birthday project is always welcome, if you don’t want to take the Toppings option!

I used 3D die cut flowers out of vellum for my DT card 🌸 .

The red vellum flowers had been in my stash for a while. I am happy that I could finally use them! The vellum was colored in red alcohol inks and cut using the coordinating die of Build a Flower: Peony Blossom set by Altenew. I stamped the detail layer of the stamp set in white pigment ink.

I cut the Leafy Wreath once from white cardstock and one more time from gold cardstock. I picked the peach color from the washi tape I was using and colored the white wreath with R20 Copic marker to represent it.

To create the background I first adhered the Peach Gold Washi tape (Altenew) on a white cardstock panel and debossed it using Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover die (Altenew). I foam mounted the background panel on a white cardbase and added the golden wreath on it. the blush colored wreath was added using foam tape.

To add some golden touch I heat embossed the edge of the petals of the die cut peonies in gold, layered three of them using foam tape and added it to the card. The gold heat embossed sentiment is from Dotted Blooms set.

I finished off the card with a few Satin Gold sequins (Altenew).

  1. Hello TaeEun,
You seriously make the most beautiful cards !
I discovered your work and talent only very recently but have been following you ever since.
    Love from France

  2. The red vellum flower is beautiful TaeEun and the AI in red suits it perfectly and love the gold embossed edges to all the petals and the gold die cut centre to match. The leafy wreath behind looks lovely too and the soft background is just enough so that the flower and wreath are the main focus. I love the coordinating gold embossed sentiment and gold sequins too. x

  3. Absolutely beautiful! Also, I had no idea you could use alcohol inks on vellum, this sounds like something I need to try. Every little detail you added works together for this gorgeous card.

  4. Beautiful card, those red and gold flowers look amazing and I love the wreath and subtle embossing in the background, Cathy x

  5. I’m left speechless, TaeEun! I am absolutely loving how you’ve used vellum, but not sure if I dare to make something like this! And I don’t think I’ve seen peony blossoms look this wonderful ever!! What a perfect way to use the peachy washi tape to finish the card! Swoon!

  6. Oh my gosh – this is absolutely gorgeous! Those flowers are amazing I love all of the gold details (the wreath and the sequins). The textured background goes perfectly with everything. Love this.
