Hello everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start!

I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a soft floral card featuring the beautiful Bloom & Buds product suite from the Sunlit Manor Release. For this design, I layered two colored floral images and gently curved the petals of the top layer. I love how the gently curved petals and leaves give the flower such a soft dimensional look, almost as if it is lifting off the card.

I started by hot foiling the Bloom & Buds image in gold. I then colored the image with the coordinating stencils in the following colors:
– Stencil 1: Sunshine, Apricot, Peony
– Stencil 2: Grassy Knoll, Spanish Moss
– Stencil 3: Coral Reef
– Stencil 4: Peony
– Stencil 5: Bay Leaf, Grassy Knoll

Once the stenciling was finished, I die cut the image with the coordinating die and set it aside.

Next, I created the background layer by pressing the Bloom & Buds image onto a white A2 panel using the Press Plate, inking the flower area in Coral Reef and the rest of the image in Grassy Knoll. I then stenciled this pressed image in the same colors as the foiled one and die cut it.

After that, I lightly ink blended the area around the floral opening on the negative die cut panel using Coral Reef and Bay Leaf, then dry embossed the panel with the Lattice Glow coverplate die to add subtle texture.

To assemble the card, I adhered the embossed negative panel to a white card base and inlaid the pressed and stenciled floral image back into its original place. Then I added the gold hot foiled flower on top with foam tape, after gently curving the petals and leaves to give the bloom a softer, more dimensional look.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled it in gold using the Bloom & Buds Press Plate set, die cut it, and added it to the card with foam tape. To finish the design, I embellished the card with a few Butterscotch Glitter Drops

It’s a great way to add interest to a floral card by layering similarly colored images with foam tape for extra dimension. The lower layer peeking out from behind adds depth and feels like a beautiful little surprise. Gently curving the petals and leaves also makes a big difference, because it gives the flower a softer and more natural 3D look. These small details help bring the focal image to life without making the design feel too heavy.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this card inspired you to play with layering and dimension on your floral cards 🙂 !
